Price of Admission

Every visitor who comes to the house is greeted by the wagging tail and toothy smile of a lab, quickly followed by the offering of whatever stick happens to be lying nearby as if playing fetch is the price of admission.

This sculpture honors that greeting through more than it’s happy appearance. Price of Admission is sculpted to function as a door knocker as well. The stick in the dog’s mouth can be turned from the top fork to make the lower branch strike the tag. So the stick is still the Price of Admission for guests to be let inside the house.
